More:

Random Acts of Kindness Day is February 17, 2020

It's great when there's a day celebrating something that we should all strive to be doing each and every day of the year. That's exactly the case with Random Acts of Kindness Day which gets celebrated on February 17 each year. While you should definitely use #RandomActsOfKindnessDay on February 17, it's a good reminder that you should be striving to use #RandomActsOfKindness as much as you possibly can throughout the year. Both hashtags are a wonderful reminder to be the best person you can be in all the little interactions you have with others each and every day.

The great news is that it doesn't take a lot of effort to do acts of random kindness. They really can be as simple as opening the door for another person, complimenting another person on whatever catches your eyes about them or giving a few words of encouragement. It's basically being a nice person and acting in the way you would like to see others act towards you.

When you do perform random acts of kindness and share them with the appropriate hashtag on social media, it can have dual benefits. Beyond the kindness that you showed, your random act of kindness can easily inspire others to also do small acts of kindness on their own to others. In our everyday lives, things can get busy and hectic and we often forget to simply be kind to others. Sharing your acts of kindness is a great reminder and that's one of the things that is so great about the acts of kindness movement. It doesn't take a lot of effort and sharing those acts can often inspire others to do acts of kindness as well.

In addition to inspiring others, doing and sharing acts of kindness can have a positive benefit for your social media accounts as well. While you should never be doing the kindnesses solely to better your social media, when you do it genuinely, those who follow you will likely interact with your social media and are much more likely to share, tweet and like the posts. As is often the case with social media, when you do good things, your social media accounts are often rewarded as well.

Make sure to mark down February 17 and to use #RandomActsOfKindnessDay on that day. For the rest of the year, challenge yourself to use #RandomActsOfKindness as much as possible to not only make days a little happier for others but to get in the habit of doing random acts of kindness to the point where they are simply a part of how you live your life each day. You'll be amazed at how doing nice things for others can in return benefit you and your social media accounts.
