What Does #MailOrderCatalogDay Mean?

National Mail Order Catalog Day on August 18th takes us back to the era when shopping meant flipping through thick paper catalogs and circling items with a pen. Aaron Montgomery Ward created the first mail order catalog in 1872, giving rural Americans access to goods they could never find locally. Before the internet, these catalogs were basically the original online shopping - just slower and with better paper quality.

How to Use #MailOrderCatalogDay

Post a photo of a vintage catalog or share a nostalgic memory of circling items as a kid. Great for throwback content and retail history accounts.
