Third Thursday of April

What Does #HighFiveDay Mean?

National High Five Day is celebrated on the third Thursday of April and was created by a group of University of Virginia students in 2002. They set up a booth and encouraged passersby to high five, and it took off from there. The high five itself dates to the late 1970s in baseball and has become one of the most universal gestures of celebration and encouragement.

How to Use #HighFiveDay

Post a photo or video giving someone a high five or share a moment worth celebrating with the hashtag. It is a simple, feel-good post that works for personal accounts and brands alike. Team photos with high fives or celebratory moments fit perfectly.
