IPA Day! Take a moment to savor a delicious India Pale Ale.

First Thursday of August

What Does #IndiaPaleAleDay Mean?

IPA Day is celebrated on the first Thursday of August and is dedicated to India Pale Ale, one of the most popular craft beer styles in the world. IPAs got their name from the heavily hopped beer British brewers made for the long voyage to India in the 1800s. Today the style has exploded into dozens of substyles - hazy, West Coast, double, session, milkshake, and more.

How to Use #IndiaPaleAleDay

Post a photo of your favorite IPA with a mini review or tasting note. Breweries should showcase their IPA lineup, and beer bars can promote tap takeovers or flights. Asking followers to name their top IPA sparks great debate in the comments.
